My Sabbath Sweatshirt Embroidered

This is my Sabbath Sweatshirt.

If I’m wearing this, I’m not catching up. I’m not building something. I’m not trying to get ahead before Monday. I’m stopping. It’s not because it’s soft. It’s because it reminds me that it’s okay to stop.
(Okay… and it’s soft.)

God commanded the Sabbath because we forget who we are when we don’t rest. We start believing the lie that everything depends on us. That if we slow down, things fall apart.

They don’t.

The Maker of the universe sustains it, and we mark the day with gladness and thanksgiving. It’s not because I earned it. It’s not because I finished everything. It’s because I trust the Lord and remember who I belong to.
